The Craftsman 10" Contractors Table Saw came with the metal hand wheels pictured below. The handwheel simply fit over the end of the shaft and was attached with a machine screw. On less expensive Craftsman table saws, there was no metal insert. The better quality plastic hand wheel had a metal insert where the handwheel fit over the ned of the shaft. Instead of a set screw these attached to the shafts of the elevation and tilt mechanisms with a machine screw into a tapped hole at the end of the shaft. These were chromed pot metal and attached to the shaft with a set screw.Ĭraftsman table saws since the 1970's used a plastic handle like the ones pictured below. Table saw hand wheels were used to raise and lower the saw blade and to tilt the blade for angle cuts.Ĭraftsman table saws from the 1950's and 60's used a handwheel like the one pictured below.
